the LIGHT OF MORTAL VISION, is a compilation of Studio Workshops from the Axiom Maxiom Drawing Center, presented as a series of cumulative exercises in Workbook form. The exercises were purposed to lead participants through a 'recall' of the rigorous Foundation Drawing and Design Courses offered by 'Modern' European Art Institutes prior to WWII. The exercises place emphasis on the discipline involved in 'Seeing' and 'Drawing'. Personal 'discipline' is stressed so as to allow the skills required in discovery to generate individualized, lyrically/creative, capacity.

Works included in this Volume were created by the participants from our Asheville, North Carolina community guided by architect/artist/educator Regi Weile.
