At least they are accused of murder. Charlie's pretty sure it wasn't him. After all he only hit the temple goon once with that wrench.On the run, they hide out in the one place-on the massive space station-no one would expect. The temple the murdered acolyte once called home. Seeking refuge in the temple isn't their first bad decision that day and it won't be their last. Not that it matters. In a few days, it'll all be over. Charlie will be thrust back into the arms of the family he fled. Elsie won't believe where she came from, and the murder victim's master-the feared religious leader Daniel-will fulfill his mission. Well most of it at least. It's a shame about Elsie.Inspiration for The Light in Elsie's Eyes came while working with an NGO in northern Mozambique, where the poverty, corruption, and damage done to that society by external forces inspired many of the book's themes.
