This book is a very personal story about my life. I was born in 1940 during the second world war and raised in a small village in Northern Sweden, only 180 miles from the polar circle. It was a simple life on a small farm with my parents and siblings. I left home as a teenager as a merchant seaman to see the world. During my time at sea I had an opportunity to visit with an elderly aunt of my mother's who had lived in America most of her life. She took a liking to me, and several years later she helped me and my young family emigrate to the United States. I describe in some detail the life of my parents and grandparents in Sweden and my first 24 years in my homeland, followed by my life and career as an American immigrant. The American Dream is my reality.
