William Booth (1829-1912) was the Founder & General of The Salvation Army. Consumed with zeal to win the lost and inspired by heroic Methodist figures who came before him, General Booth made it his life's mission to bring salvation to a dying world and equip other believers to do the same, all while finding every way possible to meet real needs and care for the most broken and hurting among us. His legacy lives on in The Salvation Army's continued evangelistic efforts and the hearts of those his life has inspired.
