The author has written a short book on the D-Day, which goes some into the details that led up to the invasion of D-Day on June 6, 1944, going back to the Dieppe Raid, which happened on August 19, 1942. By using a timeline in this work, the author has been able to show how the Allied leaders such as Dwight D. Eisenhower was able to command the Allies, and lead them to victory. The writer of this work did not know much about the these different events such as the invasions of North Africa, Sicily, or the mainland of Italy, but he wanted to learn more, and so he studied them. This is not a comprehensive work because one could spend his or her whole life studying D-Day alone, but rather it is written for the adolescent that should be a short read that is both educational and entertaining to that person. As always whenever a writer completes his or her book the writer should remember this one fact that when you complete your book this makes you an amateur rather than an expert in the field because your work shows that though you have learned something about your subject, you still have much to learn.
