The small American town of Daymonville (nicknamed Demonville) has been haunted by a demon birdman since the mysterious disappearance of Heather Young in 1985. Legend says that the Eagleman, with the body of a man and the head and wings of an eagle, is responsible for Heather's disappearance and has terrorised visitors to the forest ever since.

Mat considers the legend ridiculous, but Charlie thinks there may be some truth to it. However, when they enter the forest in search of evidence, they find that the legend runs way deeper than either of them realised.
