The Leafblower's Lament

My first person passage through the Revolution (as some described 1969-70), acid, Woodstock and the National Student Strike -- with a stop along the way to engage in counter-counter intelligence (don't try this at home) -- to video. Interactive video. User-created and -controlled media. From that perch I surfed the bleeding edge of many technologies as analog gave way to digital, and as broadcast devolved to truly user-centric tools that we carry in our pockets. Throughout these peregrinations an animating vision of entirely new ways of communicating thoughts and feelings propelled the voyage, and moves it still. There is a certain sense that many War Baby brethren may share of having just shuffled a corrupted deck that infuses these adventures. There is also evidence of having impacted large forces, subtly and with no evidence or desire for attribution. Therein is a reminder that "They also serve/ Who only stand and wait." Or who only stir the leaves of fortune, and technology, and political will. I believe in the power of the individual to shape our collective consciousness and also what we call history. It's our story.
