FOREWORD "Thou givest me this day my daily bread." Shall we eat today? Certainly if we would conserve strength. It is said that once Elijah went on the strength of a meal forty days, but to ordinary mortals under ordinary conditions we can do better with three meals per day at regular hours. The purpose of this little book is to help the reader to cultivate the habit of regular feeding on the Word of Truth. There are "crumbs" for one in haste, "crackers" for a light repast, "biscuits" for a more leisurely meal, and full "loaves" for those who find time for, and delight in, the sustenance found in the eternal Truth. The Truth is "milk" for babes, "bread" for children, "meat" for strong men and women of mature digestive power, "honey" for those who like sweets, "jewels" for those who love adornment, "treasure" for those who desire riches. There are single thoughts to be carried through the day as a motto to be repeated mentally and audibly when convenient. Many full meditations will richly repay regular study and practice, for in so doing they will feed and instruct the reader in the right way of meditation. There is something in this little volume that will help you, no matter what your need may be. The arrangement of these meditations is in line with the title, a quotation from the "Law of the Spirit of Life," as found in the Scriptures, followed by the testimony of the human heart in all ages. Make the testimony your own by feeding upon it. "To the Law and to the Testimony, if they speak not according to this Word, surely there is no morning for them." Isaiah 8:20.
