I first read Hal's book in 1970 when it first appeared

Hal's research is very good, his only mistake was to try to place a date when things were to happen. Jesus states that only God knows the dates, but we need to read the times and events as they occur to see how they line up according to God's Word. I admit I was very caught up back in 1970 but the thing it did for me was to spend a lot more time reading the Bible and reading commentaries of various well known evangelicals who studied at credible seminaries across the country. I'm now 82 and I see a lot of the history that Hal pointed out in his book since 1970. As Christians, we need to be ready but we are still going to be in the dark regarding the actual dates of occurrence. God will come "like a thief in the night" which means we aren't going to know until it happens, but there are a lot of "markers" along the way to let us know where we might be regarding the Rapture and the Tribulation. Man debates, trying to cite various Scriptures as "proof" but the proof is God Himself and He has let us know through happenings over the years. I don't have a schedule (wish I did) but one thing I am doing is to rely on God's Word (with Jesus as my Savior) to be part of the "crowd gathered in the sky" before the Tribulation. God makes the decisions, not man. God used men in the Bible as prophets, but God is the chooser. I feel Hal did a great job waking up the Christian world with this book, but God's timeframe is not subject to man's interpretation.

The Bible account of world war 3 and the end of the world.

Best book I have read other then the Bible. It literary started the end time prophecy sections in Christian book stores. It masterfully explains world war 3, and the finial years of planet earth.

I read this work years ago. I avoid evangelicals, interpretations and opinion/agenda driven authors/books. Hal Lindsy does a fantastic job of concisely assembling and comparing scattered Christian bible prophetic references to the "end times". He draws attention to the parallels between Old and New Testament prophecies, illucidates some accepted historical data and draws conclusions without demanding that the reader assume his are the best or last words on the matter. Very informative book which avoids coming off as preachy.
