A journey complete with desert wilderness insights

I read a borrowed copy of this book and afterward proceeded to acquire a copy for my library. The tale was an enjoyable journey all by itself. A bonus were the insights provided into the wildlife, land, people, and ecology of the desert and the role of wilderness in our modern world.
