The Last Sentinel
In the desolate plains of Jake Thompson's past, the echoes of war haunt his secluded existence. Haunted by PTSD and regret, he yearns for a purpose beyond the monotonous cycle of self-reproach. Witnessing the Horde's brutal invasion firsthand, however, ignites a spark of duty within him. He accepts his destiny, committing to protect the Shattered Lands, knowing he can never return to his old life.
Ju-gong begins training with Aella, adapting to the customs and dangers of this new world. He struggles to master new combat techniques and navigate the treacherous political landscape. Defending a small village from a Horde raiding party tests his skills and forces him to confront his inner demons. He forms bonds with the villagers, finding a sense of belonging he has long craved, yet the looming threat of the Horde remains a constant reminder of the war to come.
Seeking aid, Ju-gong and Aella journey to a Dwarven Hold, only to find it under siege by the Horde. They encounter Baruk, a wise dwarven blacksmith, burdened by the loss of his clan's ancestral home. Together, they fight to repel the Horde's assault, forging a strong alliance in the face of adversity. Baruk's wisdom and craftsmanship prove invaluable, providing Ju-gong with the tools and knowledge he needs to face the challenges ahead.
Ju-gong and Aella encounter Lysandra, a mysterious sorceress with hidden motives, who offers her assistance. Her powers are immense, but her intentions remain unclear, creating tension and distrust. Lysandra tempts Ju-gong with the promise of erasing his past trauma and returning him to his old life. He is torn between the desire for peace and the responsibility he feels towards the people of the Shattered Lands, a decision that will shape his destiny.
