Lonnie Quintana is sixty-eight years old, a widower, and - as of one particular Tuesday night, four hours into a video he can no longer clearly remember the beginning of - a knight. He has a mission: rescue Dulcinea, an online streamer he has never met and who has no idea he exists, from the people he's convinced are destroying her. He has a squire: Sonny Pena, his downstairs neighbor, who agrees to drive him mostly because Lonnie is the only person paying him in cash this month.
What neither of them expects is an audience. Sonny's phone footage finds its way online, and within a week strangers are staging encounters for Lonnie to "win" - fake villains, manufactured rescues, an entire internet deciding, almost overnight, that an old man's delusion is the funniest and most oddly moving thing they've seen all year. Nobody watching has any reason to call it anything else. Not yet.
