The Last Love Song

Anna, age nine, and her family, parents and two older brothers, arrive from Italy to America in 1949. After a few years, her brothers' friend, Lorenzo, must return to Italy. He, now sixteen, tells Anna he loves her and to wait for his return. They write a few letters, then all is quiet. Anna, now eighteen, who dreams of Lorenzo often, meets Nardo, they fall in love and marry. Lorenzo returns to US, sees Anna the day before her wedding, and tells her his story, but, does not intrude in her life. A few years later, Nardo is killed in an auto accident. Anna, bravely faces life alone. But, Lorenzo returns to Anna on her brother's wedding day reception. They kiss and Anna takes Lorenzo to her parents, saying, "This is Lorenzo, il mio amore."
