Book Overview

June, 1941. Determined that the United States will be prepared for war, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Wild Bill Donovan orchestrate the most complex espionage organization in history, the Office of Strategic Services. Young and daring, the OSS assemble under a thin camouflage of diplomacy and then disperse throughout the world to conduct their operations. And no operation is more critical than the one being conducted by hotshot pilot Richard Canidy and his half-German friend Eric Fulmar: to secure the rare ore that will power a top-secret weapon coveted on both sides of the Atlantic--the atomic bomb.

Great Work....

I started reading and was skeptical, then by the time I was finished I was wishing I was Canidy.. Great Job, can't wait to start on next book.

Excellent

THE LAST HEROES is the only war novel I've read since 1992 that can hold a candle to the epic WWII novel THE TRIUMPH AND THE GLORY. What a superlative book, it is Griffin's best by far!

Beware of ANY book by Griffin

This novel is just another example of the uncanny ability of W.E.B. Griffin to draw excitement and interest out of a story many times told. But beware, as with all of his other novels, reading this book may be harmful if you need to sleep and eat on a regular basis. Once started, you can't put this down!!!!!

Pure W.E.B. from front to back.

I have read all of Griffins books. His "Brotherhood of war" series is still my favorite, followed by "The Corps". This series maybe a re-release,but it is still pure W.E.B.. Sure the players appear the same. Thats what makes it good. You know that you are reading Griffin. The money angle of the actors is great and different. Please another in " Badge of Honor" series. As with all of Griffins books,I can't put them down until I close the back cover.

Awsome as Always

I have read most of the WWII books by Mr. Griffin and I will have to say that this is a wonderful book full of the many things I enjoy. I love the historical accuracy of his novels. Also, as a young woman I love the way that he portrays the ladies in his novels, not as mousy stay at home women who just sit and worry, but as strong women who know what they want.
