Lots of my favorite actors.

Lots of my favorite actors include Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris, and Samuel L. I do not mind movies that do a little reality-altering for entertainment purposes. But it turns out to be one of those slow dragging-out things with gawdawful piano background music that does not even match the action. All the ex-Vietnam characters are disgruntled know-it-alls before they even speak. There are lots of disjointed flashbacks (they could at least be chronological). The story takes place a year before I got there, so the difference could be real. So, I am taking this in as a movie like anyone else. After a while, we finally get stories of their pre-war lives. The wrap-up section is a real tear-jerker. “The Power of what one person can do.” The big question is why this movie? Why now? This might make a good play.

An Almost Unknown Film ???

Despite an all star cast, this film never seemed to have appeared on many of the big screens. After watching it, I have purchased 12 copies over the last few years to give to friends or fellow veterans. In fact, I usually keep a copy in my vehicle's jockey box in case I find another person likely to appreciate the theme of the movie. If you are a VietNam Vet or know one, I highly recommend this presentation. You won't be sorry !!!
