The Last Frontier: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller
The lights went out nine days ago. Adam and Cara are going north.
Alaska is the last empty place on the continent, the last frontier, and they mean to walk into it and build something that lasts. He is thirty and has been planning this since he was fifteen. She is thirty-four and writes everything down. They have a truck with no computer in it, a wall tent, a bag of seeds, and four thousand miles of a country coming apart between them and the only ground left that nobody owns.
What they find when they get there is that it is already occupied.
A crippled grizzly with a dead man's blood dried on her broken tooth. An old trapper who swears an oath in green smoke and cannot stop going back to the woman who is unmaking him. And on the best building ground in eighty miles, a settlement of twenty-six people who handed over everything they had to a woman who never lies to them.
Everyone in this country tells the truth. That turns out to be the dangerous part.
