"Ingenious and funny . . . Magnificent." -- Alan Moore, creator of Watchmen and V for Vendetta Jack Sparks died while writing this book. It was no secret that journalist Jack Sparks had been researching the occult for his new book. No stranger to controversy, he'd already triggered a furious Twitter storm by mocking an exorcism he witnessed. Then there was that video: forty seconds of chilling footage that Jack repeatedly claimed was not of his making, yet was posted from his own YouTube account. Nobody knew what happened to Jack in the days that followed -- until now. "Wow. Seriously hard to put down." -- M. R. Carey, author of The Girl With All the Gifts
I 100% agree with MichaelR’s review. There was a negative review, which appears to have been removed, that stated they couldn’t get invested because they didn’t like the main character and found it difficult to “root for him”.
But that’s the thing… You are SUPPOSED to hate him!! That is made very apparent very early on. I actually found it enjoyable to root against him for a while!
This is such a cool and super original take on a classic possession. Jack Spark’s character development, slow as it may be (which is so “on brand” for him), is very well written and definitely has you reevaluating everything you thought you knew!
The Last Days of Jack Sparks is a wild and imaginative ride that I would recommend to any horror genre lovers.
Great original read

The review below or up is foolish. You’re supposed to dislike the protagonist. But in the end you find out why he is that way. Amazing original take on the possession trope. And the format of a YouTube channel expose was done so well. True terror and thriller mixed into one. Read it, I loved it. Originality goes a long way these days and it is done here almost to perfection.
