Amazing Language Book for Nursing Students

Amazing book, take the time to fill in all of the exercises. It takes a while but well worth it. I got an A in this class because of this!

Great Book!

I love this book. I have had no prior medical terminology experience. This book is practical and laid out in an easy to understand format. It is a textbook with plenty of review exercises at the end of each chapter as well as interactive exercises on the CD. When you complete a chapter with all of the exercises you will know and understand the information presented. The text is arranged by body system which makes learning easier.

Buy this book if you want to really learn your medical terms

I bought this book as a requirement for an independent study course. I wasn't required to buy the sixth edition but I did just the same and I found I made the right decision. I found the material easy to read with a friendly tone and an extremely useful presentation. The layout of the chapters and the excercises provided helped me to clearly understand, use, and learn the terms. I worked on this book without the aid of a teacher or classroom setting and I feel this book has made the difference between just memorizing material for a later test and really knowing the terms. Also, the CD-ROM that comes with this book made an excellent reference aid and a perfect way to test and reinforce my knowledge. (Clicking on the "figure" button in the multi-media program yielded some interesting surprises) As a result of using this book, I was able to achieve an excellent mark in the Medical Terminology module of my independent study course. I would recommend it to anyone who wants or needs to know their medical terms for any health related field.

Crystal clear and easy to use!

Davi-Ellen Chabner's book is the best of its kind that I have read. I first used it as a student of medical terminology. Then, as luck would have it, Mrs. Chabner was the instructor for the human diseases course I took at an adult education certificate program in medical transcription. Talk about good fortune!

For anyone interested in the human body, medical information on diseases and tests. Very well written, understandable, highly informative. Fantastic book for beginning students or anyone. Wonderful encephal food. You'll find yourself saying, "So that's where they get that name from".
