The Language of Cicadas

The relationship between Josie Clark and Yoonsoo Kim could be defined as cicada-esque, as it often mirrors the lifespan of cicadas themselves. Josie first meets Yoonsoo, or as she later learns to call him, Yoon, as he exits the JFK International Airport one summer day, from Seoul, South Korea. Yoon is going to be the Clark's host student for the next school year, and their chance meeting leads to a lifetime of memories neither ever expected.
