Buyer Beware, not a Portlandia cookbook

The book is not like a traditional paperback, more like a compilation of printed recipes. The photos are black and white, the book is extremely light (think accompanying workbook when you take a self-paced class). The recipes themselves sound ok but the level of mental gymnastics necessary to tie them back to the show is considerable (nothing weird, outlandish, unique like you might expect from Portlandia). Looking at other books published by the author: this seems like a "cast a wide net and you're bound to catch fish" scenario. Attractive cover but really nothing else to justify the price; I was the fish in this situation, so maybe learn from my experience. *UPDATE: Scam. I looked at reviews for other books by this author online and they seem to mirror my experience - low quality, generic, full of typos, pretty much all the signs of a scam/book mill. Buyer beware. 0/10. I can't in good conscience suggest this book to anyone.
