In a tale of ancient evil, Bram Stoker creates a world of lurking horrors and bizarre denizens: a demented mesmerist, hellbent on mentally crushing the girl he loves; a gigantic kite raised to rid the land of an unnatural infestation of birds, and which receives strange commands along its string; and all the while, the great white worm slithers below, seeking its next victim... Bram Stoker, creator of Dracula, is one of the most enduring and masterful influences on the literature of terror.

This book was reissued as “The Garden of Evil”. These reissues often came with new titles, cover art, and framing to attract readers who might not connect with the original name.
You have probably read other stories by Abraham (Bram) Stoker, so you know that the writing is verbose. However, if you miss a sentence, you may miss a major point of the story. With parallel stories that overlap, if you do not read every word, you will find yourself with loose ends. There are sufficient twists and turns.
There is a slow buildup to an action-packed end. This book will worm its way into your library.
The movie just uses the Book title but uses its own story.
