The Lady in the Purple Hat is set in Southwest Detroit in the summer of 1962. Twins Nelly and Niles Collins didn't have many financial advantages growing up. Their widowed mother had to work two jobs to support them. What they did have was a loving mother and good friends who would have their backs no matter what. Who was The Lady in the Purple Hat? They formed a club to catch the ghost lady and suddenly the entire neighborhood got involved. By the end of the summer every one of their lives were enriched by the bonds they formed before all of their lives went into different directions.
