The quiet Victorian town of South Krimson was turned on it's head during the summer of 1897. While celebrating the wedded bliss of the town's richest family, the La Croix's, scandals were on the horizon. Questions of inheritance for the La Croix family fortune were making headlines. Activity of the Krimson Mafia was picking up speed. The mayoral reelection race was in desperate need of funds. And to make matters worse, the most dangerous woman in the state, the Black Veil herself, Vanessa Vale, has just been released back into her hometown of South Krimson after serving a ten-year prison sentence for a double murder.
