The knowledge economy

The knowledge-based economy (KBE), the knowledge economy (KE) or the new economy (NE) are at the heart of today's transformations. These effects are spreading across a wide range of activities. All economic production incorporates knowledge, and capitalism is linked to that particular form of knowledge that is science, since it imposes a perpetual renewal of production that requires constantly "new" information, the ultimate source of which is fundamental research and scientific progress which, although independent of it, ensures its conditions of possibility. The spread of ICT stimulates growth. They enable opportunities to emerge. The progress made by ICTs seems to depend on the economic context. They play a growing role, with human capital playing an important role, thanks to the skills it possesses.
