The Kingsley Chronicles Vol 1: Power Struggles
Ever since the early 90's, Evelyn Kingsley leads the Kingsmen with an iron fist. Evelyn's rapid rise in strength caused tensions within the streets and in city officials. The sudden shift in power forced rival gangs out of their territories and countless lives lost in the wake of constant turf battles. The gang wars in Memphis got so bad that Evelyn's own husband, Mitchell Kingsley, joined forces with the mayor and governor to stop her. In the early stages of this crisis, city officials were desperate for a solution to this never ending conflict. Both the mayor and governor approved Mitchell's proposal to create a military task force called Cadmus. Although Cadmus proved to be an effective solution over the next few years, the Kingsmen already proved themselves to be a fortified stronghold. The first leader of Cadmus overestimated his chances. The second second leader of Cadmus, Travis McFulton, deployed a much more effective solution against the Kingsmen. The same family who Evelyn coerced into joining her illegal activities are the same ones gathering evidence for Cadmus. This tactic led to major arrests & take downs in the Kingsmen operation but not enough to bring them down. The police & other city officials attempt to regain control of Memphis as a power struggle between the Kingsmen & other gangs nearly tear the city apart. In the Summer of 2019, a new leader at Cadmus joined the war against Evelyn & her Kingsmen. One of Evelyn's grandsons, Demetrius Kingsley, joined Cadmus to put an end to his grandmother's tyranny. Demetrius used the same strategy his predecessors created to fight the Kingsmen. Demetrius's judgment as leader comes into question when Travis voices his concerns about the new tactics being used. Demetrius and Travis clash over how the war should be handled. Demetrius knows the best way to end this war is to match their brute strength with overwhelming force. In a power struggle to maintain control of the city, Demetrius leads a squad of officers to dismantle Evelyn and her organization. As the war began to reach its tipping point, the people start to lose hope. Evelyn's blood lust not only tears through the city but through innocent families themselves. In the midst of this prolonged battle, tensions flare up as all the cards are on the table. Time is not on Demetrius's side because Evelyn has put a target on everyone he loves including his pregnant fiance. How can Demetrius protect the entire city while attempting to keep his loved ones for Evelyn's reach? Family secrets start to unravel as the lines begin to blur.
