A game worth playing!

I loved this book. It was creative and original and allows the reader to become part of the story, almost like a detective. As the story gets going more and more clues are found and by piecing them together you are able to try and figure out the murderer. Along the way there are many twists and turns as well as some well-conceived, blood spilling mayhem. The author never lets the suspense end, it stays with you up until the final chapter when everything all comes together and the truth is finally revealed, in a jawdropping manner. A great read!

Thrills, chills, spills, and kills galore...

I've read hundreds of murder mysteries throughout my years and few leave you on edge like this one. It was extremely difficult to put down. This book gives the true meaning to a 'mystery' because you are constantly left guessing as to who the murderer is. Most mystery novels give away the killer from the very beginning, leaving you only to guess why they committed their crimes and if they will be caught, this one holds you in suspense until the very last page. I absolutely loved this book. Two thumbs up! Also check out Karin Slaughter's Faithless and John Sandford's Broken Prey, two great books as well.

Very Original

I just finished this book and came on to see what others may have thought, and to my dismay there are no reviews for it. Anyway this was an intelligently written murder mystery with a creative serialistic killer that plays a game with the protaganist of the book -FBI Agent Hank Garrison- trying to see just how great of a detective he really is. The mystery keeps unfolding as more and more bodies are becoming slaughtered. This is certainly not a brainless murder mystery, I found myself thinking a lot about what was going on and what potentially could happen next. Each chapter ended in a way that left me in suspense and I had to keep on reading just to see what happened next. The short chapters made the book hard to put down and lent to its fast-paced thriller aspect. You will find yourself trying to figure out who the killer is, who the next victim will be, and why the murders are taking place in the first place. Every character is set up so that each one could potentially be the criminal mastermind behind all the bloodshed, but each one could also just as easily be the next victim. The story is well thought out and certainly engaging. Throughout the whole book the plot continuously builds and the mystery begins unfolding as more and more bodies and evidence pile up. The ending is excellent, with a shock inducing final chapter. It's a great debut and I found it to be very intriguing. I also loved the foreshadowing the author uses throughout. Two thumbs up on this one for the 22-year-old author!

A Literary Classic!

Wow! is all I can say. This book transends the Thriller genre, the writer is a genius! His wonderful plotting and deft characterzations will surely put him in a position for a Pulitzer prize. I laughed, I cried, I could not sleep until I finished this book. It has changed my Life. Do read this book! You will never be the same!

A SHOCKING MURDER MYSTERY

I HAVEN'T READ A MURDER MYSTERY THIS ORIGINAL OR EXCITING IN A LONG TIME. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT DOWN UNTIL IT WAS FINISHED. IT WAS CHOCK FULL OF SUSPENSE AND SURPRISES. I WOULD HAVE NEVER OF THOUGHT SUCH A YOUNG AUTHOR COULD HAVE WRITTEN SOMETHING I NOT ONLY ENJOYED BUT ACTUALLY LIKED ALOT. THE ONE GRIPE I HAD WAS THAT THE CHARACTERS WEREN'T DESCRIBED THOROUGHLY ENOUGH, I'M A STICKLER FOR KNOWING WHAT PEOPLE LOOK LIKE. EVEN STILL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO HAS A FEW HOURS TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT 'WHODUNIT' BEFORE THE BOOK REVEALS THE MURDERER. IT'S A FUN AND EXCITING READ!
