Based on the Author's true life events; The Kids We Used To Be follows the story of three brothers, Arnold, John, and Brennan, and their overlapping adventures that take place in their hometown of Conway, Arkansas in October 2010.

It's Halloween weekend and John and his best friend Harry are determined to do everything in their power to make sure it's the greatest weekend of all time. Everything is lining up perfectly; Senior Skip Day, Homecoming, and Casey's big Halloween party, It's gonna be a jam-packed adventure. All they need now is a little money and an alibi.

Brennan is stepping out of his comfort zone to skip school with his newfound crush Kara and her friends. She's taking him to the fabled 'Day Party' happening across town at one of the college rent houses. He doesn't know what to expect, as he's never hung out with a big group of people before, let alone teenagers old enough to drive, but he's willing to play it by ear as long as he has a chance to get to know her even just a little bit more.

Arnold has decided he's finally had enough of his hometown and is going to move to California with his girlfriend Jennifer to pursue his dreams. There's only one problem; he hasn't told a single soul, and he's leaving in two days. Now he has to spend his final weekend in Conway trying to maximize his time with his friends while simultaneously bracing for the inevitable bomb he'll have to lay on his parents before he leaves.

It's a story of first love, a story of transition, and a story of learning to live in the moment. These are the times they'll be remembered for, the in-between moments.
