A serial killer at large in Elizabethan London is using lost Holy texts as an excuse to carry out the murders. To preserve law and order, Lord Burghley decrees part of the evidence must be supressed. Lady Eleanor, newly given the role of Keeper of the mysterious rock and her manservant take on the investigation, thinking first one then another guilty of the crimes but as the days go on, the trail becomes cold and it looks like the murderer is going to get away with the crimes.The death of a soldier however provides new information but with it a new conundrum. Will the Queen allow the investigation to proceed given the implications for England?The story bounces from the palaces of London to the heart of the English Countryside as the pair follow the trail with many twists along the way.
