The plot was a good idea, however few of the characters were fleshed out enough to make me care about them. The portrayal of Sunshine's character felt a little tone def and cringe; this really would have benefitted from a sensitivity reader. I think the book could have used a few more passes which is unfortunate for a book about publishing the written word.
A hug in a book

I absolutely adored this book and all the characters. (Well, Portia not so much.) I also loved the four legged characters as well. This was my first book by this author, and it will not be my last.

Clunky and Disappointing

I was so excited but quickly lost interest with the way the stories felt disjointed and like there was so much that was chosen to be moved through quickly that would have done better being expanded upon. Also parts that felt totally moot point and added nothing.
Overall, the idea is intriguing, and some parts were enjoyable- but as a whole I was constantly questioning why I continued to read it at all.

A little gem

I really enjoyed this lovely book. It’s about love and loss of people and objects and how this connects the main character to feeling hope again. A bit of ghost action, dogs, and wisdom. Recommend!
