Chapter 6. Before the Flame: Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Darshan

The central spiritual chapter.

Shiva and Parvati came here to pacify Kartikeya and stayed on this mountain, becoming Mallikarjuna and Bhramaramba. The shrine is among the oldest Shaiva centers with evidence dating back many centuries.

1. Sakshi Ganapati Temple

Belief: Ganesha acts as witness to every pilgrim's visit.

2. Sikhareswaram

Highest point. Tradition says one who sees Sikharam escapes rebirth.

3. Hatakeswaram Temple

Ancient cave-shrine associated with hidden Shiva presence.

4. Paladhara Panchadhara

Meditation point of Adi Shankaracharya; five streams trickling through rocks.

5. Bhramaramba Devi Temple

The Shakti counterpart completing the pilgrimage.

Chapter 8. Descent to Patalganga

Visit to Patalganga.

Officially the Krishna River stretch below the temple hills, accessed by long descent or ropeway. Temple traditions consider this sacred water for ritual use.

Chapter 9. The Dam That Holds a River Like a Secret

Visit to Srisailam Dam.

One of South India's major dam structures across Krishna.

Chapter 10. Kingdom of Stripes: Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve

Visit through the largest tiger reserve zone in India.

Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve is spread across vast Nallamala forests and is recognized as India's largest tiger reserve landscape.
