The Jungle Leaders A fictional and satirical piece based on real events from toxic environments, and weird behaviours exhibited by leaders across multiple countries. The story is set in Briary, an imaginary country, and compares intellectual civilised mankind to wildlife. The story starts with an eccentric president, a dictator, who executes decisions in ridiculous locations. He unwittingly becomes the role model for leaders at workplaces. Bahati, an employee, shares her experiences with these toxic bosses. At home, she copes with a traditional father, and a mother who has embraced stereotypical roles. She hilariously likens characters she encounters to the vast Briary wildlife. She blends her story with that of Caleb, a political appointee, whose sterling performance evoked the president's wrath. Bahati clings to the toxic workplace amidst a dearth of job opportunities. The continuous beratement by her bosses erodes her self-esteem and confidence. Her internal battles push her to the brink of depression. Will she survive? From The Author, Khalila Salim "Guaranteed to make you laugh, reflect, and learn."
