Envirionment and mysticism of Julian of Norwich

This book is clearly a result of focused research on the author's part. She has led us into the environment of the reclusive life of Julian of Norwich, an anchoress living during the plague years in England, whose visions resulted from a near-death experience. For about 20 years after that, Julian attempts to make spiritual sense of these visions, and in doing so, she becomes one of the more significant mystics in Christian history, as well as the first woman whose writing we have in English(She was a contemporary of Chaucer). Rev. Okulam connects the reader with Julian in a very intimate way, and also links her mysticism with happenings in our own times. The book is compact, very readable, and holds one's interest.
