The Joy of Dog is written by all of us. Aslam, the wonderdog, came into our lives when we most needed him. He appeared in visions first. When we found him, he was a fluffy ball of stripes with a white mantle, long white gloves, white feet, a bunny tail, lots of teeth and lots of wealth, in the form of humor and happiness. Instantly, we felt immense love. Feelng love was most important at this time, because we'd lost a sense of faith. We'd been attacked in our home, in the middle of the night, by a stranger threatening to kill us. We'd broken bones and fallen into separation in the escape. We needed safety. When Aslam came, he opened our hearts and love flowed. Love is the best protection.Aslam and Janan, his mom, the four cats: Dragon, Bleu, Eidon and Cocoa, took daily walks together in the neighborhood. Aslam met his human relatives and made friends with everyone. His specialty is rocket ship kisses, leaping straight up to deliver happiness. His best friend, JJ, arrived a month after Aslam, to help our neighbors and best friends, Susan and John, and Gracie the cat. They played most every day, enacting westerns and melodramas in the yards. They went to puppy training classes and dreamed big dreams.When they moved away, Aslam made new friends. He was very popular with the girls. However, he was wishing for someone really special to come. And that's when magical baby Majid, a gift, was unexpectedly delivered to us: Aslam's special baby brother. And the stories began again.These are the tales, as Aslam wrote them, with all of us.
