Genaro worked for Otto Schmidt on his dairy farm in Alice. A self-taught auto mechanic, Genaro built his auto repair shop in Alice and lifted his family from poverty. The garage Genaro Adames built with his bare hands still stands as a landmark of his journey to Alice, Texas."
