Hypocrisy because the main characters...General Cain and his daughter.....patted themselves on the back for "freeing" the Negroes of the south.....only then to speak of "controlling" the "Indians" out west.....controlling meaning.....enslaving the "red" man by way of reservations, stealing, burning, murdering(innocent women and children). Also Josephine "kidnapped" a little girl?! The Cains spoke of being civilized, moral, ethical.....yet the truth of their "journey" was one of hypocrisy and self aggrandizing. The content of this book has me personally reflecting on reading any other books by this particular author.
