This work wants to explore a relatively new field, that is, that of the jazz accordion. The level of reference is for those who already have sufficient mastery of the instrument, as well as basic knowledge of major and minor scales, tonality, intervals, chords, in order to start a course in this specific field, so one can organize one's studies. The work is basically articulated in three parts. The first is dedicated to the basic technique, through exercises on musical scales, arpeggios, finger independence, thumb passage. The second, instead, deals with various arguments of functional harmony through the use of the seventh chords with respective inversions, the practice of II-V-I cadences, voicings, modes, and scales used in jazz. The last part consists in the creative application of the technical-theoretical baggage acquired through the construction of appropriate performances and improvisations of standard jazz and blues.
