In this book Stewart has set out to chart the history of his paternal forebears over the past 250 years.

This information has been gathered from a number of sources over a number of years and was made somewhat easier more recently when much historical information became readily available on the internet.

The Jackman family history story begins in Devon, moves through London and onto Sheffield with many links to other locations along the way.

Stewart and his brother Kenneth were born in Sheffield where Ken still resides. Stewart, however, moved to West Somerset in 1975 and is now living not far from where the whole story began. Hopefully anyone with links to this family now or in the future will find this an interesting read.
