The Issue with Baptism of Russia

The quadruple baptism of Russia The official version of Russian history was manufactured in the XVIII century by imported by Romanov dynasty German historians Bayer, Miller, and Schlezer. relates the one and only baptism of Russia took place under Prince Vladimir in 986-989 A.D. Envoys of different lands presumably came to Vladimir in 986, offering to convert him into their confession. The Greek team has won the competition. The actual baptism took place in 989. The Christian ecclesiastical hierarchy was nonexistent prior to that, therefore the priests from Greece got the job of teaching the faith to the pagan Russians. It took several decades under Prince Yaroslav the Wise to translate the ecclesiastical literature was from Greek into Slavic. Dr.Fomenko et al scratched this polished surface and found out that the Great Catechesis, published in Moscow under Czar Mikhail Fyodorovich Romanov and Patriarch Filaret in 1627 A.D. contains the version of the unique Baptism greatly at odds with the one we're accustomed to. According to the Great Catechesis, Russia was baptized four times. The first baptism was by Apostle Andrew, the second performed by Fotius, Patriarch of Czar-Grad "in the reign of the Greek King, Basil of Macedonia, and Ryurik, Great Prince of Russia, with Princes Askold and Dir regnant in Kiev. The Great Catechesis doesn't give any dates for either Baptism. Unlike the first two, the third and the fourth baptisms of Russia are dated in the Catechesis. The third one has taken place under the Great Princes Olga, in 963 A.D. The fourth baptism of Russia is the famous baptism of 989 A.D. under Prince Vladimir. The Great Catechesis says: "And so he had ordered to the whole people of Russia to get baptized by the Holy Patriarchs Nikola Khrusovert, or Cicinius, or Sergiy, Archbishop of Novgorod, under Mikhail, the Metropolitan of Kyiv". The German team of historians says nothing about any Russian or Greek archbishops in Novgorod or metropolitans in Kyiv under Vladimir. For learned Germans, Russia was pagan at that time. Period. Bayer, Miller, and Schlezer used the Povest Vremennyh Let 'discovered' (written, sic ) only in the XVIII century as the primary source. Dr. Fomenko et al refute this version with abundant data that explains the consecutive baptisms of Russia as confession choices during religious schisms of XII-XIV centuries and not a unique Baptism of pagans took place.
