As a teenager, I "wanted" to be normal, but "had to" refrain from the activities a typical high schooler enjoys. Girls were the T-rex of my Jurassic Park, monsters to avoid. If I was unfortunate enough to be near one, my brain went AWOL. And it was just such an encounter that propelled me into my year and a half of confinement. When I should have been working my way out into the world and starting a career, I was, instead, in the middle of eighteen months of self-imposed isolation. "The Isolation Room" is the true story about why I imprisoned myself, how God brought me out, and what I learned through it all."The Isolation Room" chronicles my activities (or lack thereof) during that time, the conversation with my pastor that induced my return to society, and all the struggles involved in such an undertaking. But it was my working relationship with the late Dr. Jerry Falwell, and his death in 2007, that really fueled my recovery. God, the Father, showed me just how much I misunderstood Him. I share the stories from Scripture that God used to reconfigure my thinking and bring about the changes in my life that I so desperately needed.
