It is late 1944. Defeat of Germany is predictable, and commander of occupation force on Channel Islands Oberstleutnant Friedrich Kr ger is well aware of it. So he prepare for worst cause. Unknowingly to his superiors he decide to resist until bitter end even if Germans ny is defeated. To make it possible he put civilian population under surveilance and purge his command structure of "weaklings". When war is over and allies demand surrender of islands he refuses. After failed negotiations Allies prepare for invasion but heavily fortified islands would become their nightmare.
This alternate history book explore this scenario dealing with military and diplomatic developement but also with events among civilian population on occupied islands.
