If you're like me and you've spent years figuring out what the heck you're supposed do with the skills you've been given, this is a great tool for helping you pull it all together. My artisan/adventurer labels were right on the money---so close, in fact, that I think I should go start a new business right now! If you've got an open mind and a searching heart, The Intuitive Businesswoman can give you some direction.

An Adventurer/Artisan review

I have read many books that highlight the importance of identifying what motivates each employee. Judy and Todd's book actually gives you a tool to identify these individual motivators based on whether the employee is a visionary, adventurer, artisan or idealist or a combination thereof.My business partner and I are both adventurers, go figure that two adventurers would found an Internet startup. Some of the archetypes can be deep rooted. Two years ago, I would have sworn I was more of an idealist - I was on a very straight career path - until I jumped ship. Moving from a non-profit healthcare consulting career to running artimix.com, a startup selling framed contemporary photography, was certainly a jump - an adventurous one at that! One caveat, don't let these categories pigeonhole you, you never know what will happen if you let it...

I'm not crazy!

So this is why I've spent much of my career feeling like everyone around me was crazy: they were! Or at least, they were not my "type", or I wasn't theirs. I would have saved years of angst, frustration and sleepless nights if I'd had this book, and the personality archetype quiz years ago when i was just starting out. An especially invaluable tool for insight into one's relationships in the workplace; gives perspective if you've been working a long time. It would be especially great for young women just starting out trying to make decisions and choices about their future and career.

The Intuitive Businesswoman

I have just completed The Intuitive Businesswoman and was very inspired by the book. It was an easy read and chocked with personalized information. After taking the quiz, I could identify myself and see how I fit with succesful women from my personality type. The book explores the lives of women from the past and also those that are presently living successful business lives. What makes it so interesting is that you get to see the obstacles and hardships that each person had to go through to achieve their success. There is such a range of diverse woman that it is possible to see yourself from many angles and begin to fit or add to the pieces of your own manifestation. I really liked the writing style and the engaging, sometimes humerous and interesting stories. It is a great gift for women starting out in their own careers, especially new college graduates. Or for seasoned women who desire to reenforce their resolve while they are hitting some rough spots. All in all it is a very valuable asset to my library and would be a great book for any person wanting to understand and strengthen their own intuitive knowing and how it works in relation to other personalities. An excellent book that provides great content, learning, enjoyment and fun. I highly recommend it.

Great Tips For All Business Owners

The Intuitive Business Woman helped me see more clearly how my type - adventurer/visionary - affects my business. I realize that knowing more about myself can help me in choosing the right employees for the tasks best suited to their type. The test is easy and fun and could save a business person from a making a very expensive mistake by hiring the wrong people. It also helped me better understand why I respond the way I do to people and events in my business and personal life. The examples Judy and Todd provide make it easy to relate to. I believe that this is a must read for all business people - not just women. Understanding more about myself is key to my success in business and I will use The Intuitive Business Woman as my guide to employing the best people for the job, partnering with the right people for new opportunities and continuing my self exploration.
