The Intrepid series tells of the struggle that ensues after an economic disaster that leads to the complete nationwide breakdown of society. It contrasts the division between those who were prepared from those who were not. It is written through two primary perspectives. The first perspective demonstrates the turmoil that arises within a well-prepared group while the second perspective tells of the struggles of an individual trying to make it alone. ******* Years of prepping for man-made and natural disasters, Brad Miller, along with his family and friends, were better suited for the economic collapse than most. Book One of the Intrepid series follows the Miller family through the first seven months of living after the most detrimental event in the country's history. No matter their level of preparedness, turmoil arises not only from people outside of their survival group, but also from within. Jake Davis was an engineering student in Texas when the country began its fall. With roads blocked and the city in chaos, he found himself unable to return home to his family in Arkansas. Desperate and with limited supplies, he begins his journey on foot only to find hardships that lead him into desperate times.
