Dressed in buckskins, Floyd Wimms is a throwback to the mountain men of the West. Loving women, he leaves town ahead of a posse led by an irate husband and heads upriver to winter with the Cherokees as he has done before. On the way he saves a young woman named Sister from abductors. Sister thinks since he saved her, she should be his woman. Floyd doesn't agree and heads upriver. Sister follows him aiming to be his woman. Thus begins an adventure that takes Floyd up the Chattahoochee River into North Georgia. With Sister on his trail, other challenges await him around every bend. His reputation precedes him and both the good and bad are looking for him.
