Outdated, but fascinating

This book contains a lot of outdated information on dog genetics. Some of it is correct, but many parts have been disproven and/or geneticists now accept new theories. However, I enjoyed reading it from the perspective of looking through a time capsule of sorts. I am giving it 3 stars if only to dissuade people from purchasing it with the expectation that they will understand dog genetics — there are much better resources to turn to instead.

This is the book if you want to know why certain colors are inherited by dogs. The first part introduces basic genetics, the second part explains each gene, and the last part applies what has been mentioned to a specific breed and most of the Kennel Club recognized breeds are here.
