The informative value of the left dislocation

This research constitutes a contribution to the syntactic studies of orality, since it analyzes the behavior in oral discourse of the grammatical construction called left dislocation (LD). DI has been the object of study in different regions, however, until this research no aspect related to it has been studied in Honduras. The aim is to describe the behaviour of IL by studying data from a corpus of spoken language and to examine the contexts of occurrence of the phenomenon. The methodology is mixed because the corpus is obtained by recording conversation as a natural and spontaneous behaviour, but it incorporates the systematization of data. At the end of the research, the activation of DI in oral discourse was verified, it was established that one of the contexts that favors DI is the conversational context and that there is a strong relationship between the turn system and its use.
