Jim Marceau thinks life is absurd. His jaded existence is defined by three things: alcohol, casual sex, and the search for meaning. When he wakes up in a strange woman's apartment with no memory of the previous night, she charms him into being her date for a wedding. Her name is Marigold, and she quickly turns his bleak perceptions upside down. As the day unfolds, they fall in love. Sort of. But Jim, who's half-Jewish, runs afoul of Marigold's wealthy, racist family and the man they want her to marry. Things go south in a hurry, leading to some truly horrific situations.
