A wonderful book imagining what would have happened if sometime after the civil war the Indians join

There was little to dislike. I've read all of his other books. But this was the first book he wrote. It's been out of print. I'm glad its back. The idea of the Indians joining forces and soundly defeating the United States in order to lay claim to the land in the center of the U.S. is something to uplift us all. The book also touches on imagining the present. Their nation is their own. Their stewardship of the earth is responsible. In these treacherous times there is something very comforting about imagining an alternative that rejects the cruelty of our current administration.
