At the end of the 1990s, debates, conferences and seminars saw a significant increase in publications dealing with the inclusion of people with disabilities in mainstream education, prompting reflection on the direction and outlines that these discourses and texts have been taking in the Brazilian context. The understanding that there are differences between people, cultures, types and levels of knowledge is a major step towards eliminating these barriers. People with disabilities have the same needs as everyone else and respond differently to the treatment they receive - their attitudes vary greatly according to the demands placed on them by their environment. The choice of the theme of this study is directly linked to the difficulties encountered in pedagogical practice with regard to the inclusion of deaf students in biology classes in regular education, since the subject of biology is a challenge as it has a lot of different content and we must consider the different adversities that may arise in the classroom, thus transforming the school into a space for social inclusion.
