During the time when God initially placed this book in my spirit, I was watching a great man of God on television, and he was somewhat frustrated by those who don't understand that God wants His children to prosper just like any good parent. In his frustration, he said, "Maybe I should teach about poverty. Maybe they'll like that better!".
This man's exclamation caught my attention. I began to think that maybe he had something, and that addressing poverty might be a way of helping people face their condition. Then, once the condition is confronted, it can be dealt with at the root. Areas can be identified, causes can be addressed, and ministry can be applied to repair the damage done to a person's mind, will, and emotions.
As a retired Clinical Social Worker/Therapist, I believe strongly in confrontation to help people face what is happening in their lives. As a daughter of God who is no longer impoverished herself, I recognize the need to do this lovingly and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We cannot conquer what we refuse to confront!
