The importance of literature in developing individual readers

When children enter school, they acquire new experiences, new values, and it is at this time that educators show them, or at least should show them, what reading is and its importance in the education process. In teaching literature as a process for developing readers, it is important to explore the use of literary texts: fiction and poetry through the selection and analysis of children's books. Reading is important in the formation of critical citizens and thinking individuals. The general aim of this research project is to seek out knowledge about literature, its various concepts and its history, as well as to educate parents and educators about encouraging literature and how it should be approached, although this is a major challenge not only for us as educators, but also for parents and students, in order to build up reading individuals. This book is the result of our CBT during our undergraduate studies.
